CCH NOP: the National Outreach Programme explained
CCH NOPis Cadet College Hasanabdal's National Outreach Programme, conceived in 2017. It selects boys from far-flung and underdeveloped districts and trains them to improve their chances in the CCH entrance exam. It is free for participants — the Federal Government bears the cost — and its test is held in the districts, not on campus.
Everything below is the college's own description, linked so you can check it. We are not CCH, we do not run NOP, and nothing here can get a boy selected. What we can do is explain the programme honestly and give his preparation somewhere to happen for free.
What is CCH NOP?
NOP stands for National Outreach Programme. In the college's own words, the idea was conceived in 2017 to strengthen CCH's "merit-based diversity" and it "aims at selecting boys from far flung and underdeveloped area of Pakistan and training them to improve their chances of selection in CCH Entrance Exam."
Read that sentence twice, because every misunderstanding about NOP comes from skipping its last clause. It trains; it improves chances; it selects from specific districts. It is not a quota of seats, not a shortcut past the entrance exam, and not a programme a family in Lahore opts into.
Who is NOP for?
Boys from far-flung and underdeveloped districts of Pakistan — that is the college's framing, and the districts it names in its own reporting bear it out. The point of the programme is to reach talent that distance and circumstance would otherwise keep out of a national entrance test.
CCH decides who is tested. There is no open online application that we know of, and this site has no standing in that decision whatsoever. If you are a parent or teacher in one of those districts and want to know the current process, go to the source:

Is NOP the same as getting into CCH?
No — and the college's own wording is unusually clear about it. NOP exists to improve a candidate's chancesin the CCH entrance exam. Admission is decided by that exam and the college's merit process.
Concretely: NOP is a preparation and outreach programme with its own test used to select participants. The entrance exam for admission is a separate hurdle that comes later. A family planning around NOP should plan for the entrance exam as well — which is the part we can actually help with, and it is the same paper either way. Where and how is the NOP test held?
In the districts themselves. For the 5th NOP in 2022, CCH states that the test was held on 15 May at Turbat, Quetta, Badin, Mitthi, Miran Shah, Wana and Gilgit, with cooperation from the provincial governments, the Army and civil society — and that CCH teachers travelled to those places to conduct it.
That detail is the whole design of the programme in one line. It removes the two costs that quietly exclude poor families from national testing: the travel to a distant exam centre, and the unfamiliarity of sitting an exam run by strangers. A centre list for a new edition is published by the college when it announces that edition — never assume last year's list.
Is there a fee for NOP?
No. In CCH's own words: the first NOP was funded by an alumnus, and the Federal Government currently bears the cost of the initiative, which is free for the participants. For families in the districts the programme targets, that is the single most important fact on this page.
It also means anyone asking you to pay for NOP participation is not representing the programme. CCH runs it free; the college is the only party who can tell you it is real.
When does NOP run?
It has been an annual summer programme. From the college's own social channels: the 8th NOP launched 15 June 2025, and the 9th NOP launched 8 June 2026 and concluded 18 July 2026. Those are social posts rather than a formal notice — worth knowing, not worth planning around to the day.
CCH also reports "exponential growth in applications for the programme every year," which is the honest context for anyone hoping to be selected: interest is rising faster than places are.
What does NOP actually train — and how do you prepare for it?
The programme's stated goal is the CCH entrance exam, so the preparation it implies is the entrance exam's subjects: Mathematics, English, General Science, Islamiat and Urdu, plus reasoning. NOP students also take part in campus life — the college has published trips for them, such as a visit to the Taxila Museum — so the fortnight is academic and residential both.

They state they are built from the subject list the NOP Final Evaluation tests; that list comes from our own material, so treat the college’s paper as the authority on it and use ours to practise.
